Help

The questions people ask most. If yours is not here, send us a message and a person will reply.

How does booking work?

Choose what you want done, say when and where, and PLAT shows the stylists nearby who can take it. Pick one and send a request. They have a few minutes to accept. If they cannot, the request passes to the next stylist automatically, so you are not left waiting on one person.

When am I charged?

Your card is held when you confirm, and taken only once the appointment is finished. You see the full price before you confirm: the stylist's price plus PLAT's booking and protection fee. Nothing is hidden and nothing is added afterwards.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancelling is free up to the time shown on your booking, which is on the booking screen from the moment it is made. After that a share of the price is charged, because the stylist has kept the time free and turned other work down. If the stylist cancels, you are not charged anything.

What does ID verified mean?

Before any stylist can be paid through PLAT, Stripe checks their identity: their legal name, date of birth, address and a photo ID. Stylists who have passed that check carry an ID verified badge. It is done by Stripe, not by PLAT, and it is the same check used by the payment companies behind most online businesses.

Something went wrong with my appointment

Tell us and we will look into it. Every booking has a Report or block button on it, and you can message us about anything else. If you felt unsafe, say so and it goes to the top of the pile.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Account, then Settings, then Delete your account. It shows you exactly what is removed and what is kept before anything happens. Your name and contact details go. Records of bookings and payments stay, with your name taken off them, because those are financial records PLAT has to keep.

Still stuck? Contact us and a person will get back to you, usually within two working days. You can also read the Terms and Conditions, which cover how PLAT handles your personal details.
